An average day turned to gold when Kari Magill, Rowley Properties COO, received word the John L. Scott Building was awarded LEED Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED is the USGBC’s leading rating system for designing and constructing the world’s greenest, most energy efficient, and high performing buildings.

Many people visualize Earth Day as a ceremonious tradition where a tree is planted; a symbolic gesture of giving back to the environment. When Bob Snyder of Rowley Properties and his facilities team thought of Earth Day, they chose to clean up and preserve what was already once given to us.

Rowley Properties reached a new milestone this week when Bob Snyder, Facilities Manager and Construction Liaison, became a LEED Accredited Professional. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the United States Green Building Council, is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction, and operation of high performance green buildings. LEED provides a roadmap for measuring and documenting success for every building type and phase of a building’s lifecycle.

Leadership Eastside held its mid-year luncheon Thursday, February 7, 2007 at the Puget Sound Energy Auditorium in Bellevue, Washington. The two guest speakers; Rowley Properties, Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer, Kari Magill and Wallace Properties’ Chief Executive Officer, Bob Wallace, participated in an informative panel discussion moderated by Lori Matsukawa, King 5 New Anchor.

Rowley Properties’ newest development, the Hyla office building in Issaquah, will be dedicated to a former employee whose passion and concern for the environment inspired the company to build its first officially “green” building.

Rowley Properties is completing a 29,000-square-foot class A office building at 1700 N.W. Gilman Blvd. in Issaquah. The three-story building, called the Hyla Office Building, also has covered parking and 2,700 square feet of retail space.

At the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce Community Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, May 15th, Richard Symms received the Issaquah Business Person of the Year award.

A new office building is in the works for Northwest Gilman Boulevard and 18th Avenue Northwest, just south of Evergreen Ford.

Milenko Matanovic, Director of Pomegranate Center has been named one of five winners of the inaugural Shelter Awards by HOME Magazine. Rowley Properties provides space free of charge from which Pomegranate Center operates.

Kari Magill was selected as one of the Puget Sound Business Journal's 40 under 40 award recipients, given to rising business stars in the Pacific Northwest under the age of forty.
