George W. "Skip" Rowley, Jr.
Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors
Skip Rowley is Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rowley Properties. Skip started his career in the family business in 1958, digging ditches, installing water lines, and operating heavy equipment. In 1963, Skip went to work full time as the firm's Construction Superintendent, and along with his father helped develop over 350 acres of single and multi-family residences, and more than 50 commercial buildings on 110 acres in downtown Issaquah. Skip was the firm's Construction Superintendent until 1989 when he was elected CEO. Over the past decade, Skip's leadership has significantly focused on internal operations and new development of existing property.
Skip’s community involvement is unsurpassed. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Performing Arts Center Eastside (PACE), is a member of the Board of Trustees of Overlake Hospital Medical Center. He is a member of the Board of Directors of First Mutual Bank, ArtsFund, and Issaquah History Society. He also serves on the United for Washington Political Action Committee, the Citizens Transportation Advisory Group, the Regional Transportation Leadership Group, and he is a member of the Eastside YWCA Advisory Committee. In the past, Skip served on the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission on Transportation, was Chairman and Founding Member of the East King County Chambers of Commerce Legislative Coalition, and served as President and Board Member of the Greater Issaquah Chamber of Commerce.
He has won numerous awards for community service and achievement, including Issaquah Kiwanis Volunteer of the Year, Issaquah Citizen of the Year, Issaquah Businessman of the Year, and the Issaquah Schools Foundation’s Golden Apple. Skip is also well known for his extensive involvement in the planning, fundraising, and development of the Issaquah Youth and Community Center.
Skip received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington in 1963. A native of Bellevue, Washington, Skip and his wife Debra have three daughters, two grandsons, and one granddaughter.
