Richard Symms
President
Richard Symms is President and a Member of the Board of Directors of Rowley Properties. Richard started his career with the firm in 1968 selling houses. In 1970 he was promoted to Sales Manager and then again in 1980 to General Manager. Richard assisted with the development of over 50 commercial buildings in downtown Issaquah, working primarily on entitlements, permitting, site planning and government relations. In 1986 Richard was named President. He is now responsible for leasing, buying, selling and developing property.
Richard is currently a member of the Issaquah Rotary, Issaquah Chamber of Commerce, Commercial Brokers Association, and the Washington Association of Realtors. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Issaquah Chamber of Commerce and former Chair of the Chamber Education Foundation. He has also served as Rotary Vice-President, Co-Sergeant of Arms, and Membership Chair, as well as the Chairman and a Board Member of the Washington State Arthritis Foundation.
Richard graduated from Eastern Washington University in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. He and his wife Merlyn have lived in Issaquah since 1964, and together have two sons and five grandchildren.
